PMT has 12,000 lines and has made its TV headend available to Syringa Networks, a consortium of small rural phone companies that started laying a $40 billion, 1,400-mile fiber network seven years ago to provide high-speed 'Net access and transmit video to households where the service wasn’t otherwise available. PMT started laying the foundation for its migration from cable to IPTV nearly four years ago.
