Satellite TV provider DirecTV reported amid its third quarter earnings that it had added 136,000 TV subscribers during the quarter. The growth, however, was tempered by the ongoing perception that subscriber growth for the satellite TV firms is slowing. The third quarter figure was well under the 224,000 subscribers DirecTV added in the second quarter, and was also down from the 156,000 customers it added in the third quarter last year. DirecTV acknowledged earlier this year that the subscriber gains it had seen through telco resale deals likely would slow a bit.
