IPTV specialist Amino Communications, which earlier this month landed a major set-top box contract with Romtelecom, has sold and shipped its three millionth STB; it reached the two million mark just over a year ago.
Amino brought its first product to market in 2002 and has aggressively expanded its offerings, showing, for example, an advanced hybrid/OTT product, the Amino Freedom media center at NAB in April.
Amino has a strong foothold in Eastern Europe.
"Our products are now used in 85 countries around the world--with over 800 customers ranging from major tier one operators to very locally-focused operators," said Amino CEO Andrew Burke. "Reaching this important milestone, within 16 months of announcing the two million sales mark, is a strong vindication of our consistent innovation in bringing new and exciting products to market."
