BT - Watch List 2009

BT: Two telco TV providers worth watching in one small island nation? As European markets go, the U.K.'s telco TV/IPTV sector has yet to mature like most, and both Carphone Warehouse and BT have interesting challenges ahead of them that really do define them as worth watching. Carphone is new to the game, but BT Vision has stumbled out of the gate, initially fighting perceptions of low acceptance, later losing its Hollywood-bred chief and finally acknowledging it is lowering its near-term subscriber goals. Still, BT also is part of the potential exciting Canvas hybrid TV project. Maybe there is more to British telly than Gordon Ramsay.
