Rochester serves around 6,000 households in a 240-square-mile area.
It was conceived of 112 years ago and amassed a grand total of 149 subscribers by 1896. More than a century later, it’s offering digital and hi-def TV, broadband and voice over a $9 million fiber-the-home project. IPTV service just got off the ground last year. This year, the company has extended its network to an additional 650 rural customers. The rural build-out will continue over the next three years for a total additional investment of $6 million.
