Siminn: The incumbent telco in Iceland, a 103-year-old company, may seem a choice from somewhere off the beaten path, but Siminn has always been on the cutting edge with IP technology, both as a VoIP and IPTV provider. About 33 percent of Iceland households have IPTV, which may be the highest rate for any country, and Siminn claims to be the first telco in the world offering IPTV nationwide (a claim to fame best kept in perspective). With 11 years of TV experience, initially in analog TV before launching IPTV in 2004, Siminn also has way more TV experience overall than the average telco. Maybe this company would be willing to teach a few IPTV lessons over a bit of that popular regional delicacy-ground-fermented shark.
