Vernon was formed out of the original Bad Axe Telephone Co., started by a group of farmers. It now has 7,500 access lines in eight communities spread out over 550 square miles. Vernon launched IPTV at the end of 2003. Vernon was also one of six companies that collaborated on building a super headend, MidWest Telnet.
