Bresnan Communications founder dies

Tools

Bill Bresnan, the cable TV industry pioneer who founded Bresnan Communications, has died at 75 after a battle with cancer. His death came the same week that Bresnan Communications announced that Jeff DeMond would take over as president and CEO of the company.

Bresnan Communications has about 320,000 customers in the Western U.S., and has often been quick to deploy new technology--just recently moving to deploy OpenTV's advertising management system. That tradition of innovation was started by Bill Bresnan himself, who played an important role in developing fiber architectures for cable TV.
