BT Vision's new chief, Marc Watson, has quickly gone to work expanding the telco's content offerings, the latest deal being a movies-on-demand distribution pact with Sony Pictures. There also has been talk this week of BT's plans to offer Premier League Football programming by next year, which comes as dominant pay TV provider BSkyB's wholesale prices of that content are coming under regulatory scrutiny.

BT Vision fell well short of growth expectation during the tenure of previous chief Dan Marks, who left the top post last month. Marks appeared frustrated with the regulatory environment, among other things, but it is already clear that Watson is focusing on more aggressive market strategy.
