Busy fall mix includes Cable Connection

The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers used to have a conference every spring that was much lauded for its technical content, but somehow always ended up right around the same time and in the shadow of Supercomm (or, depending on the year, whatever the big telecom industry show happened to be called). This year, the SCTE's Cable-Tec Expo again finds itself in a slot the week after Supercomm, though both shows have now moved to the fall slate. Supercomm will be Oct. 21-23 in Chicago, and Cable-Tec Expo will be Oct. 27-30 in Denver, and is now part of the multi-conference Cable Connection Fall event, according to a story at Light Reading's Cable Digital News.

That timing also puts the Cable-Tec Expo just days before the upstart TelcoTV event, Nov. 10-12 in Orlando. LR CDN reports that energy efficiency will be the hot technology topic at the cable confab. A technology-focused exec roundtable will start off the event.

A busy fall trade show season, eh? And, don't forget that includes the ITU Telecom World 2009 event this week in Geneva.
