Consolidated Communications grows IPTV take

Mattoon, Ill.-based Consolidated Communications added about 1,500 IPTV customers during the second quarter and had 19,371 at the end of June, representing growth of about 40 percent over the previous year. The company, which reported the numbers during its second-quarter earnings call this week, also said that IPTV growth was among the major reasons for strong growth in its data and Internet services business.

Pair bonding technology is helping the company pass more homes with IPTV, and it has a goal of passing 40,000 additional homes by the end of this year.
