The decision by Starz (Nasdaq: LSTZA) to end its relationship with Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX), despite an offer from the streaming video distributor of $300 million a year for access to its Sony Pictures (NYSE: SNE) and Walt Disney Studios (NYSE: DIS) content, comes down to a question of how much services like Netflix are costing content owners in deals with pay-TV operators.
