Espial, Conklin-Intracom partner for Oneida Telephone's IPTV upgrade

Western Illinois telco Oneida Telephone Exchange is upgrading its IPTV offering with help from on-demand specialist Espial and middleware vendor Conklin-Intracom.

The CLEC, which has used Espial's MediaBase with content from Avail-TVN for the past three years, is integrating it with the Conklin-Intracom fs|cdn IPTV solution, replacing its existing middleware. The telco said a key selection criteria was Conklin-Intracom's responsiveness to feature requests. It enables delivery of linear and on-demand TV, DVR, chat, email, messaging, and next-generation interactive services, and is easily scalable for 100 to 100,000 or more end users.

Oneida is an independent telephone company serving triple play services to the City of Oneida, Illinois and its rural areas as part of the Western Illinois Video (WIV) consortium of eight rural telephone service providers.
