FCC extends PEG comment period

The Federal Communications Commission has extended the public reply comment period for parties to contribute their feedback to more than 500 comments originally filed with the agency over the controversial treatment of public, educational and government programming by service providers. The new deadline is April 1.

Many of the original commenters sought to have the FCC create new requirements for the carriage of PEG channels by service providers such as cable TV, telco TV and satellite TV providers.
