Google acquires Sage TV; is Google TV integration likely?

Google has acquired Sage TV, a broad platform that allows users to switch between devices while watching a show and also allows them to record live TV episodes, and seasons.

No details on the deal have been made public.

Sage, which launched in 2002, most likely will be integrated into Google TV, although the company so far has said little about its plans. an Sage TV has, aside from announcing the deal on its blog, remained mute.

"And as the media landscape continues to evolve, we think its time our vision of entertainment management grows as well," said Jeffrey Kardatzke, CTO and founder of the company. "By teaming up with Google, we believe our ideas will reach an even larger audience of users worldwide on many different products, platforms and services."
