More telcos sign up for NRTC programming

On the eve of the IPTV World Forum North America event, slated to begin tomorrow in New York City, the National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative (NRTC) has announced that at least four rural operators recently have signed up to deliver the NRTC's video programming package to their customers.

In a press release, the NRTC mentioned BTC Communications, in Nahunta, GA; FrontGate Networks, in Fort Meyers, FL; Mountain Rural Telephone Cooperative Corporation, in West Liberty, KY; and Palmetto Rural Telephone Cooperative, in Walterboro, SC., as the latest telcos to buy into the organization's resources, allowing them to create customized video offerings with both standard-definition and high-definition programming.

Madeleine Forrer, vice president of video services for the NRTC, will be speaking at the IPTV North America event Tuesday on the topic of broadband stimulus and how it might affect NRTC constituents.
