Obama wants DTV transition delayed
President-elect Barack Obama asked Congress to delay next month's planned digital TV transition due to fears that millions of households may not be ready for it. It remains unclear how long of a delay could occur, or if Congress will act on a delay at all.
The federal consumer DTV coupon program ran out of coupons recently, and there has been widespread criticism of Congress for allocating less than $2 billion toward the transition program.

The transition to DTV has already been pushed out quite a bit and no further pushout is needed. If anything this will force function people to get hooked up with better over-the-air reception.

The transition has been delayed long enough, but Congress should fund at least the same amount of coupons again, including re-activating any coupons that were misplaced and expired without being used.
After all, the FCC 700MHz auction netted at least 3 times the initial coupon funding limit, so the government has more than enough money to issue as many coupons as are required!
