Harmonic talks up new transcoder

Encoding/transcoding technology vendor Harmonic tells FierceIPTV it will be ready to discuss some recent customer deals at TelcoTV 2008, and also will show off its recently-announced ProStream 4000 multi-screen transcoder software solution. The ProStream's aim, according to a Harmonic statement, is to enable converged  "any-to-any" video experiences by supporting Internet TV, 3G/4G mobile TV and "sync-and-go" video delivery to devices such as mobile phones, personal computers, personal media players, IP-enabled set-top boxes and digital televisions.
