Qwest still not interested in IPTV

Tools

This may not come as a surprise to anyone, but Qwest Communications still is not interested in pursuing an IPTV strategy. At the Citibank Global, Entertainment and Telecommunications Conference, Qwest CEO Ed Mueller stuck to his past mantra that carriers need to get better at exploiting the value of their broadband networks. For Qwest, that means pumping its fiber-to-the-node network. While it's no surprise that Qwest hasn't changed its mind about IPTV (it would be too big of an investment anyway), focusing on exploiting the potential of existing broadband connections is a strategy that may have become more popular with other carriers in the past year since Qwest clarified its anti-IPTV stance.
