South Central Rural Telephone Cooperative (SCRTC) in Kentucky is deploying Adtran's Total Access 5000 Fiber-to-the-Premises (FTTP) and Multi-Service Access Platform (MSAP) to support triple play services, according to a press release from the vendor. The 59-year-old cooperative in Glasgow, Ky., has 26,000 members, about 18,000 of whom get video and are being moved to the Adtran platform.

The vendor also issued a second press release Monday touting its success in gaining acceptance of its systems among Tier 3 telcos, but did not offer further names of carrier customers in that release.

SCRTC will put voice, IPTV and high-speed data over ADSL2+, bonded ADSL2+ and gigabit passive optical networking. The company said in the Adtran release that it had evaluated several access vendors.
