Swisscom launches IPTV service, finally

For a few years now, rumors of Apple developing an "iPhone" have captured the hearts and minds of Apple fanboys everywhere, and such a revelation, if proved true, may someday rival the relief that the IPTV industry is experiencing with the launch of Swisscom's Bluewin video-over-broadband service. Swisscom became the poster child for IPTV deployment delays during the past three years, as now infamous bugs in Microsoft's middleware, lack of bandwidth and a dearth of suitable set-top boxes plagued the operator's tortured rollout. According to a report from Light Reading, some insiders say the operator trialed the service with some of its customers, which went so terribly wrong that significant levels of churn resulted.
