Telcos laud HomePNA's IPTV benefits

Tools

At an event called the HomePNA Summit, it's likely you are only going to hear the most favorable testimonies about the HomePNA home networking technology, and telcos attending the conference are providing just that, according to a report at Telephony. The story quotes telcos such as AT&T, CenturyLink, Bell Aliant and Telus as saying that use of HomePNA is vastly reducing overall IPTV installation times--by up to 50 percent in the case of AT&T.

Meanwhile, telcos also suggested that diagnostic tools that tell them if existing home wiring can support new services also saves them a lot of time. It also should be noted that the more experience telcos gain installing IPTV, the more we'll see those installation times driven downward.
