TI enables IPTV on DOCSIS 3.0

Will cable TV operators eventually offer IPTV or at least some sort of IP video applications? That possibility is looming large with the rise of DOCSIS 3.0 as the next step for cable broadband, a technology that many operators have committed to deploy. Now, Texas Instruments has announced a DOCSIS 3.0 chipset capable of supporting eight downstream channels and four upstream, and the vendor said the downstream capacity of 160 Mbps is enough for multi-channel IP video applications.
