Tiscali gets 100K U.K. IPTV customers

Italy's Tiscali had about 100,000 IPTV customer on its U.K. network at the end of 2008, which doesn't sound bad, but published reports say that the carrier was expecting more like 200,000. Tiscali offers IPTV service over the former HomeChoice network it acquired a few years ago, and continues to fight for customers in the U.K. even though the service provider has shut down its IPTV service in it native market. It only had about 50,000 subscribers in the competitive Italian market when it announced that shut-down at the end of last year.
