TiVo expands online video search

TiVo announced plans to beef up its online video search efforts by unveiling a TV-centric on-screen search tool that helps users find video both from their service provider and from Internet video portals. The search system, called Universal Swivel Search, allows consumers to search for programs like their favorites by searching by title, actors and subject matter. Other fans will also offer suggestions. The aim of Swivel is to allow users to find content they don't already have in mind, a necessity, according to TiVo, for using current search engines.
