Tru2way day arrives with a fizzle

July 1 is the date by which the six largest cable TV companies agreed last year to have 100 percent of their headends supporting the Tru2way interactivity standard. But, Light Reading's Cable Digital News reports that five of the six companies may not have met the goal. Since a mutually-agreed-upon goal is all that's at stake, there won't be any penalties involved for missing the goal, and probably not even much of an uproar.

Some cable TV companies have made quite a bit of progress with Tru2way, particularly in recent months, though general economic doldrums and other market challenges may have contributed to slower adoption.
