Verizon, which is seeing booming sales of the Apple iPhone, is hoping to use the uber smartphone to help drive adoption of its FiOS TV service as well.

Verizon (NYSE:VZ) is offering new subscribers to its FiOS service a $200 rebate on the purchase of the Apple (Nasdaq:AAPL) iPhone4. A 16GB version of the iPhone4 costs $199. The telco also is offering between $5 and $20 off monthly bills on bundled services.

The company said it broke sales records in the first two hours the phone was available for pre-order Feb. 3. Verizon started sales on Feb. 10. Shorter-than-expected lines were noticed at the Verizon and Apple stores for the handset.
