A recent report from DSL Prime notes that Verizon is finally breaking out DSL subscriber wins for its FiOS service, which is linked to the service provider's IPTV service, FiOS TV. Verizon is now accumulating an average of 100,000 customers per quarter for the FiOS DSL service and is quickly gaining on AT&T, which is not experiencing significant growth. AT&T currently claims 342,000 DSL subscribers while Verizon trails with 329,000 DSL subs. A recent Dell'Oro report also notes that Q2 DSLAM sales are at record highs as Alcatel shipped a record 6.7 million ports; Huawei shipped a record 2.6 million ports (though revenues are down because of lower prices). Siemens' shipments fell off because it's playing the waiting game with DT for Microsoft's IPTV middleware to get in shape.
