Will spectrum woes force AT&T to make a bid for Dish?

AT&T has long been rumored to have its eye on Dish Network. Now, after it's so strapped for spectrum after failing to close a deal for T-Mobile USA that it may end up paying a premium--perhaps the highest in more than a decade--to acquire the satellite broadcaster and the spectrum Dish acquired when it bought DBSD North America Inc. and TerreStar Networks out of bankruptcy. "They are a year behind Verizon in the LTE race. Dish would undoubtedly be a good combination and it would solve a lot of AT&T's problems," said Roger Entner, a Recon Analytics analyst.
