Wyoming's Tri-County Telephone (T-CT) is deploying vendor Entone's FusionTV middleware for its deployment of hybrid TV services to its customers in the Big Horn Basin area of Wyoming. The 58-year-old telco has more than 6,000 access lines.

T-CT will be able to take advantage of Entone's alignment with broadband TV player Vudu to support online video delivery, as well as linear TV and DVR functions. The hybrid approach will augment the IPTV and HDTV offerings the telco already delivers to its customers.

Entone has been working with Tier 2 and Tier 3 IPTV operators around the world for many years, but the company revised its middleware into a hybrid offering in 2010 when it began working with Vudu, a company that had early success working with small telcos to support broadband online video in markets where full IPTV deployment was perceived to be too expensive.
